Orion Minerals

Orion Minerals, dual-listed on the Australian and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges (ASX: ORN, JSE: ORN), is a globally diversified resource company set to become a new generation base metals producer through the development of its Prieska Copper-Zinc Project in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province.
Since acquiring Prieska in 2015, Orion has rapidly made this brownfields project one of the few fully permitted, bankable and development-ready base metal assets worldwide.
Underpinned by a globally significant JORC compliant VMS Resource of 30.49Mt @ 1.2% Cu and 3.7% Zn, Prieska is forecast to produce ~22ktpa of copper and ~70ktpa of zinc over an initial 12-year life, generating A$1.6 billion in pre-tax free cash flow and a pre-tax NPV8% of A$779 million.
An emerging producer of the “future-facing” commodities required for global mega-trends such as decarbonisation and electrification, Orion has set new standards with its approach to ESG, community and stakeholder engagement, permitting and technology adoption, and is playing a leadership role in the resurgence of junior mining in South Africa.

Rand Mutual AssuranceNetworking Sponsor

Rand Mutual Assurance

Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA) was founded in 1894 by three mining companies as a mutual assurance company to insure and administer workmen’s compensation benefits. It was incorporated as a public company, and, as a mutual association, all policy holders automatically became shareholders. Years later, the South African government implemented legislation to regulate workers’ compensation benefits and RMA was issued a licence by the then Minister of Labour in terms of Section 30 of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Act (Act 130 of 1993). The licence allowed RMA to continue providing and administering workers’ compensation to the mining sector (Class IV) and was later extended to include employers from the iron, steel, artificial limbs, galvanising, garages, metal, and related industries (Class XIII) on 1 March 2015. Boasting a history of 128 years of existence, we’ve redefined our reason to exist and purpose as: We believe that workers are the heartbeat of the economy therefore, we pioneer unique value for money social insurance solutions to support their life’s journey. Given our purpose, we have a significant opportunity to enhance social insurance and are ideally positioned to be the partner of choice for employers seeking to give workers a full suite of health, wellness, and insurance services.
