Breakfast Indaba and PGMs Indsutry Discussion:

Crisis or new dawn?

The Joburg Indaba team is pleased to have brought you the 2018 Breakfast Indaba & PGMs Industry Discussion designed to address the critical issues facing the industry.  At this time of pending renewal and rejuvenation in Southern Africa, the question we now ask is:  how do we as a platinum industry renew?

Taking place on Tuesday 10 April at the Country Club Johannesburg, Auckland Park, from 07h30-16h00, it tackled the all-important questions such as:

The case for PGMs:

Dying with diesel or flying with Tesla? Is there a future for PGMs?

Where will the metals come from in the future?

Recycling / scrap metals / ETFs / freshly mined platinum and palladium / South Africa / Zimbabwe?

Is there a compelling investment case for PGMs?

Where do you get maximum exposure as an investor?

Do you invest in the metal or the mining company?

How are companies facing the current challenges in the industry? Is there a crisis?

Beneficiation and new technologies: Opportunity or threat?

Why do we need new technologies? Why the obsession with beneficiation?

Modernisation and Mechanisation?

What can you do underground in terms of modernisation?

Where does the opportunity lie? Is digitisation the way forward?

Is this a new dawn or a false start?

The Breakfast Indaba & PGMs Industry Discussion was hosted by Bernard Swanepoel and the Joburg Indaba team and brought together the major players to tackle the challenges and opportunities to ensure the industry thrives into the future.
