The fourth edition of the Junior Indaba, for explorers, developers and investors in junior mining in Africa, took place on 5 & 6 June 2018.

CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors and mining professionals once again were welcomed to contribute to lively and engaging discussions and informal networking.

We were pleased to welcome the Deputy Minister of the Department of Mineral Resources and the CEO of the Minerals Council of SA, who addressed the crucially important subject of creating a more enabling environment for junior miners, including the all-important question of funding. Many industry experts gave a variety of inputs as well as some much-needed advice on what needs to happen to unlock the potential in this country and others in Africa where barriers to success seem to be frustratingly high.

The Legends were, as always, a special highlight as they shared with us their personal journeys that have spanned many years. We were honoured to welcome renowned geologists Anton Esterhuizen and Allan Saad as well as former CEO of Metorex, Terence Goodlace, all of whom provided us with fascinating insights from exploration to discoveries and the roller coaster ride of running a company.

These were just a few of the highlights in a programme that was populated with many relevant inputs, debates about funding models, commodity prospects, fascinating company presentations and some good clean fun in the form of Myth busters.

Hundreds of images were taken at the event and these will be available on the website
under the gallery tab.
